The Guardian reports the Russian Ambassador to London’s accusations that the British media are involved in an anti-Russian campaign. This is not news. a2a_linkname="Finally someone other than me has said it"; a2a_linkurl="http://www.aliwilliams.me.uk/blog/?p=259";

Hello,
This map deserves some more attention than you have payed
First, it’s taken from a book which is titled, indeed, “The Third Empire” by Mikhail Yuryev (the subtitle is “Russia as it should be”). In 1992-1995 he was an adviser for industry in the Russian government. In 1995 he was elected a member of Duma and in 1996-1999 he was a deputy of the Chairman of Duma. He was a member of a liberal political party “Yabloko” then. Later, his views changed. Fortunately, he was not re-elected. Now, he is a businessman.
Second, I tried to read the names of the cities on the map and one of them perplexed me. That city in the center of Siberia, did you try to read its name? There are no cities around this location and the name doesn’t look like a real city name. I had to find the book review to learn what it is :). This city is named Gavrilovsk! It was named after Russian emperor Gavriil the Great, who was elected the president after Putin, in 2012. He demanded the imperial credentials and established oprichnina. In 2019, after some conflicts with the USA, Russia launched nuclear missiles. The USA stroke back, but Russia was saved by a mysterious protective energetic field. And so on, so on….
The book is awful, but what’s worth noting is that it represents the author’s view of “the ideal world”. And he’s not alone.
As far as I understand, you can read Russian? Then these two reviews may be interesting:
